I Didn't Have My Camera.

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch for playgroup. We had a picnic, played on the swings, drank apple cider, took a hayride through the pumpkin patch, visited the scarecrows, and got in a car wreck on the way home (complete with airbags, broken glass, and busted tires).

We had a fun day.
doctor's visits. x-rays. totaled van.
Today looks promising.
sore muscles. cranky kids. insurance claims.
And tomorrow will be even better.
financial stress. no transportation. medical bills.

And to top it all off, I was without my camera.
ME OF ALL PEOPLE!

*Buddah and Tiny were with me in the accident. All of us are just fine, and the kids talked about the pumpkin patch all day yesterday and played with friends--never once mentioning the car wreck. I'm discovering new bruises and tender muscles, but I have a new appreciation for carseats, air bags, seat belts, and auto insurance.

  1. I'm just glad you guys are okay. I.hate.car.accidents! I'm now a horrible person to ride with or drive with because of ALL the car accidents I've been in! It's horrible looking in the rear view mirror and the car behind you doesn't look like they are going to slow down... breath!

  5. Oh my goodness! I am glad you are all okay! How awful. It seems lately everyone I know is getting into accidents, including myself. Car accidents seem to make life stop and are so hard to deal with. I wish you all the luck for the coming weeks with dealing with all the stuff that comes along.

  8. Good golly I hate it when that happens! I'm so happy (and really, really jealous) for the happy pumpkin patch party and good memories from that. Car wrecks suck, but how cool that you live in a happy place with play groups and pumpkins and fall!!

glad that you and the kiddo's are okay. kids, in my limited experience... they rebound easily. when i was a kid, all my parents had to do to make me feel better was take me out to ice cream... didn't matter if we had totaled the car, or if the horse had reared over on top of me. ice cream is like a great big fattening emotional bandage. of course, this may be why i gained 30 pounds after college... once when i failed a test in human anatomy, i lived at baskin robbins...

  12. Glad to hear that everyone's ok. Car wrecks are so scary ... no matter how small.

The pumpkin patch sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to do things like that!

  13. Glad to hear you are ok. And the kids. Vans can be replaced. The rest is important, but a vehicle, not so much.

  14. Ms. Jae, no she didn't, not even afterwards, cause she was in shock, and then after that, well, it was just funny. She totally missed the whole swear stage somehow. I know, I'm scratching my head too.
