Preschool Field Trip

As you can tell, we took the PRESCHOOL children to the zoo today. Apparently it's a lot of ground to cover, and well...just not enough Diet Dr Pepper to fuel the body.

On another note, there could be a little too much Diet Dr. Pepper being consumed by our preschool teachers...note Ms. L stumblin' all over the place and trying to act sober!!

I tried to convince Tiny that we finally found her birth parents (see monkey in the background), but she just wouldn't fall for it. She's too smart, even for her own good!

In the end, we got to see some dancing elephants, climbing monkeys, loud parrots that repeat everything you say...oh, and we also got to see some animals at the zoo! (ba-dum, bump!) And finally, a big round of applause goes to Erika for finally giving up her free ride to the less fortunate members of our group. (Way to take one for the team BFB!)

Which Is It?

Damn dog or the girl? You decide.

We were at Erika's house the other night, and Jackson said, "hey look, mommy! it's Sweetie pretending to be Kashka!"

...yes, indeed. both pathetic as ever, standing with their dirty little paws at the back entrance. poor diminutive animals.

What Word Starts With...?

My daughter and I were playing the what word starts with the letter (blank) game, and I'm impressed with how much she knows. We were having fun, just lying on the futon picking a letter, then taking turns naming words that began with that letter. (Have I mentioned my lack of sleep over the past week? Just let me mention that now.) Ok, moving on...

We were on the letter "Q" and we already mentioned queen, quack, quilt, and quick when I just blurted out "queer." She immediately sat up and said, "mommy, what's queer?" And in my attempt to give her the PC definition (not THAT one), I said, "it means happy or gay." I used it in a sentence, she absorbed the new information, and we moved on.

*yes, I understand what I actually said an hour later when I was telling my husband how proud I was of teaching her what queer means without laughing. Umm...I just got queer and gay a little mixed up, but I knew that gay also meant happy, and well now I'm just shoving my foot in my mouth all over again (but laughing hysterically about it) Moving on...

I also noticed during our little game that I kept thinking of all the naughty words. It just came to my mind without a second thought. "mommy, what's the letter D start with?" (I know, she gets her questions turned around, but we all know what she meant so just shut up and think she's as cute as I do, ok?) Anyway, I'm like, um...dick, dumb, dingleberry, dork, dildo (at which point I skip my turn and let her continue, all the while she has NO IDEA why I'm laughing!) Then she went to "F", and I totally pled the fifth!

Have I mentioned my lack of sleep? Well, I haven't had much sleep this past week.

A little extra work on the side...

Sorry Little Miss, Jeff threatened to cut me off if I didn't give him your password.

*update from Little Miss: I'm not done venting about yesterday, so you better scroll down and show me some love (and not that kind of love...i don't get paid enough for that!)

To Sum Up My Morning At Work:

Albert Einstein once said,

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds."

I'd also like to add to that the Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Finally, an word from our sponsor:

p.s. a huge thank you to all my friends and family who helped support me through my emotional breakdown this morning. work has been stressful due to scheduling conflicts, and this morning I hit my breaking point. Hell, i didn't just hit it, I full on RAN OVER THE DAMN THING! (and got written up for it, much) I must also give snaps to my dad for my favorite quote of the day:

"what anybody else thinks of me is none of my damn business!!!!"

A picture, a memo, and a laugh...ENJOY

Ok, FINE! So we did skip Sunday school for a photo op...are you surprised??!!

Anyway, I just wanted to let blogworld know that I am NOT moving my address AGAIN. The Life of Little Miss is here to stay. I will delete inappropriate comments, I will monitor IP addresses on my website, (as well as the length of time one spends on my site), and rest assured, that if I feel even the least bit bothered by any of it...I will call you out on my blog. I will not be intimidated, and I will not be coerced into censoring MY OWN WEBSITE.

Now, having said all of that...I am open to the public once again. If you read me, (and want to keep me) feel free to link away. I enjoy reading blogs, and I enjoy reading everyone's comments. I'm here to stay, so KISS MY ASS. (that's my way of expressing love, it's ALL good!)

And continuing to express my love, here's a story!

So my sister in law came to visit us. She arrived on Saturday, (the same day as my new haircut, mind you), and she was asleep by the time I got home from work. Well, feeling all sexy and having not seen my husband much the past few days...

the next morning, I set kids up with their usual breakfast (dry cereal and sippy cups of milk) with cartoons on in the background so I could go back to bed for a while. An hour or two later, we were all getting ready for church. My sister in law was helping Sweetie (the four year old) get her tights on when she said, "hey Aunt M, this morning when my mommy got out of bed to get us some Cheerios and milk, she had on my daddy's blanket and nothing underneath!!" (giggling to herself).

Um, Sweetie, thank you very much! Of all the random things you could come up with, THIS is what you chose to share with your Aunt. Way to go babe, that's my girl!

I Want You To Want Me...

I did it! I finally did it! (and it only took me two months to gather the courage to do it) Actually, I take it back. Erika MADE me do it! She made an appointment to chop her hair and chickened out the day before...then she made me take her appointment. So together we went to cut MY hair at HER appointment. And I must say, it was the most fun girl's night out I've had in a LONG time. It was just the three of us hanging out for a few hours (while getting my hair cut, colored, and my eyebrows waxed--for the first time ever!) I love everything about my new style, and I love Erika for hooking me up with this awesome stylist! (even if it was all just a diabolical plot to put an end to my threats.)

*k, so just because the pictures are blurry doesn't mean I'm a blurry person. Erika's just a bad photographer. (mix that with an unphotogenic subject, and this is what you get)

*btw, we TOTALLY did NOT skip Sunday school for this photo shoot.

Because It's My Job

Lying in bed with my dog... (after working from 4-7 a.m.)

"Babe?" (hubby calling from the other room)

to the dog:
I think daddy wants us to get up...

"BABE?!"... (children now yelling in the background)

yes, Kashka, I have to get up and be the mom, and you have to get up and be the dog.

still looking at me like I'm crazy...
because THAT'S our job, now move!

p.s. the song on my sidebar is dedicated to my daughter; we have been singing it all week!

Idol Bandwagon

I just want to give a shout out to the next American Idol. I have watched the past few seasons faithfully, and after seeing tonight's show...let's just say they could end the competition RIGHT now. I know many of you may think I'm a bit cheesy for posting about this, but he has a voice like LIVE--one of my all time favorite bands. And tonight, he sang hemorrhage by Fuel. That man can perform. That man can sing. That man's cd will be playing on my MP3 next year while I'm working out at the gym. Guaranteed.
