I wanted to title this post "Why The Blog Name?" But as I started to type it into the little box, my previous entries appeared below...then I realized I had over 15 titles with "Wh..." as the beginning! Why the, where the, when can, who's, and that's not even counting all the how's! I think I'm beginning to see a trend...
Anyway, have you ever read someone's blog and wondered, "why did they name it that?" It's like hearing nicknames, you always wonder what the story is behind them. So in case anyone was wondering, I started calling my youngest child "little miss" because we live in the South. The nickname seemed appropriate for a blogger in Louisiana, so there you go. The actual URL that I wanted was "miles away from here", or something to that effect. I kept getting "miles not available please choose another," so I just went with that. www.milesnotavailable.blogspot.com
Of course, some are blatantly obvious...but for those of us who are wondering, what's your story?

My kids call me Momma - not Mom, Mommy, mama, mother, Just Momma.. and I have 2....so - Mommaof2 was what I went with. When Big Guy was little,our neighbors at the time were from the south... and she called me Momma when talk to Big Guy about me... and it just stuck... he calls everyone older than him - Miss first name, or Mr First name... it's a little formal for Iowa - but I kinda like it.

i chose lifeisnuts because i had just gotten back from my final work trip... after traveling for three-straight months. i came home and the house was showing signs of neglect (as was my husband)... and we still had to take a friend of ours to Yellowstone National Park and I just couldn't catch up. plus, i wasn't feeling particularly creative when i set up the blog.

Overjoyedgirl comes from a song title by Jars of Clay. My Blog title "From The Outside of Everything to the Inside of You" stems from a song lyric by Counting Crows. My favorite band, and the line just seemed to fit for an online journal.

My blog title, Sermon on the Mount (of Laundry) is meant to describe my everyday life as a SAHM, while simultaneously referring to my Faith. Plus I kind of get this mental picture of this frazzled mom-bitching from the top of her pile of laundry, wich is kind of what my blog is all about.

ReplyDeleteI started out as "Peace, Love and Sanity for All" - because that is what I really want. I get torn up when people, especially children, are hurt or have horrible lives.
But I evolved into "Crazy Momma", because my kids call me Momma, and sometimes I think I may just go crazy. Sort of fit with the first name, because I am CRAZY and seeking PEACE, LOVE, and SANITY.
Convoluted, no? Great question, though!
